This long established property was well known to Dubliners and International tourists as JJ’s, the only Jazz bar in Dublin for many years. The new owners wanted to renew it’s appeal as a heritage attraction, being the birthplace of famous Irish writer and Poet Thomas Moore. We in ADI Studio, having worked on numerous heritage properties, have a passion for these types of buildings and stories, so it was great to be approached to help create something authentic that will outlast any trend on the market. The pub is long and narrow and completely clad in raised and fielded mahogany panelling, upholstered furniture in dark greens and rich reds and a reclaimed oak floor with a matt finish to complete the reproduction Victorian era theme. The outside is clad in a bottle green glazed hand made Victorian style tile, made especially for the project. This pub embodies the term ‘cosy pub’ particularly on a cold wet wintery night, heaven!
